Meetings:
The Sacramento Valley Chapter meets the second or third Tuesday
of the month from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Our meetings are open
to the public and are free of charge, unless noted otherwise.
Our chapter covers the entire Sacramento Valley region from
Chico to Merced and Fairfield to Susanville! Therefore,
our meetings are held in various locations in Davis, Sacramento
and Vacaville to allow as many members as possible to participate!
Our meeting topics vary from Time Management to Career Transitioning,
depending upon the needs of our members. The topics are
decided each year during our September, open forum/new member
meeting. Please check out our Events
Calendar for upcoming meetings!
Scholarships:
Each year, the Northern California Chapters provide funding
for women attending community colleges in our local area.
If you are planning on transferring to a four-year program in
the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics (STEM),
then you may be eligible for this scholarship. Please
go to our scholarships
page for more information.
Workshops:
Each year, the NCC sponsor one-day workshops covering a range of
topics. The speakers are always highly-qualified and
sought-after professionals in their respective fields! Check
out the NCC website for upcoming events today!
Volunteering: Our members are always
involved in one community event or another! The
Sacramento Valley Chapter of AWIS is always in need of volunteers.
It takes a lot of work to provide our members with quality seminars
and fun-filled events. Every contribution of time and energy,
no matter how small, helps us serve you better! If you are
looking for a way to give back to the community or to svAWIS, please
contact one of our members.
Socials:
We're not all work and no play! Join us this year as we tour
the R.H. Phillips winery, celebrate Independence day, or wind-down
the year at our holiday social. Check out our
Events Calendar and come have some fun with us!
Board Meetings: The Executive Board
Members meet each month prior to the general meetings and yearly to
review our annual reports. All members are welcome to attend
the board meetings.
