7:30am-12:30pm, Monday February 19, 2007
Imperial Ballroom B, San Francisco Hilton
The Monday morning program, organized by NCC-AWIS at the request
of National AWIS, interprets the theme of the meeting - science
and sustainability - in light of new career opportunities for
women in science as science expands into needed nontraditional
areas.
For the breakfast, an AWIS special event at the AAAS meeting,
the fee is $30 for preregistration, $35 at the door. It includes
buffet breakfast, opportunity to meet the dignitaries that come
for the breakfast before going off to other sessions, and the
keynote address by Cynthia Robbins-Roth.
The symposium and panel discussion, 9:30-11:30 is an AAAS session
that can be attended at no charge. Arrive after 9:15 to be admitted
at no cost.
THIS IS A GREAT OPPORTUNITY TO MEET AND DISCUSS ISSUES WITH
OTHER WOMEN IN SCIENCE - AND HEAR AN OUTSTANDING GROUP OF LOCAL
WOMEN IN SCIENCE TALK ABOUT OPPORTUNITIES IN THE EXPANDING AND
DIVERSIFYING SCIENTIFIC WORKPLACE.
